A Milan highlight is a guided and private visit to the studio of one of the world’s most influential and inspirational Italian designers Achille Castiglioni.

DesignMashup workshops are held at the Civita Institute, a renowned American non-profit founded in 1981 to promote and inspire design excellence through cultural exchange.
Designer Thomas Lehman, and educator and design journalist, Cecilia Fabiani, will lead participants through a transformational experience built on the foundation of Italian design thinking. Participants embark on a journey of personal discovery that begins in Italy’s modern design world in Milan and progresses to the ancient and magical hill town, Civita di Bagnoregio, to begin a hands-on project bringing modern Italian design-thinking to this ancient village.
Thomas is an American industrial and graphic designer, professor and lecturer. His work focuses on furniture and product design, retail concepts, brand and immersive new media. Thomas currently lives and works in Milan and he holds a masters degree in industrial design and interaction design from Domus Academy, Milan.
